Resonance Arc: Fortress Clients

I'm going to use Tarot more to explore my modality and find out how it works.

My most recent client was an odd case.

• very similar to me in background, personality, issue...

  • single mother with son same age

  • lives in tunbridge wells

  • lost her job about a year ago and can't find work

  • works in organisation change and transformation with spiritual vibe

  • well spoken, articulate, intelligent

  • early 50's

  • well versed in psychological and personal development concepts and modalities

  • doesn't like being told how she feels, finds that intrusive

She was struggling with stuckness. It was like looking in a mirror of what would happen to me if I had stayed....she can't find work, she's gone through her savings, she's about to sign on and take her son out of independent school into state. She had suffered with long Covid and is struggling to come out of it and move her life forward.

But there was a closed off, superior nature to her that I can relate to. She felt that the people she was interviewing with were beneath her, one gave her a job then took it away because she's 'too intelligent', many expected her to bring clients which she found an affront. And she brought that same testing energy to me - 'you can't tell me how I feel', 'your modality isn't as good as xyz', 'I don't get this resonance thing', 'why not just ask how the client feels'.

So the resonance brought me static in my skin, a feeling something wanting to come up and out of me, a desperate urge to get away. It began just the moment before she invited me. I feel this was the resonance of a fortressed client.

The clients conscious stance: what parts was she leading with

Emotional authority with subtle manipulation. Trying to maintain control of the emotional field. And a state of denial, refusal to see the truth.

This was an emotionally layered, guarded and controlling person with many parts distorted, hidden and in denial.

Seven of Wands RX & The Drum

This is about learning where to step back, to gather my resources and decide where to hold my ground. I need to learn which battles are worth fighting.

It about learning how to use my 'Drum' in my sessions. The rhythm of the drum tunes me to the beating heart of the universe. Its wood frame links me to the trees and helps me journey to the lower world via the roots and the upper world through its branches. The drum skin gives the shaman the powers of the animal kingdom. Striking the drum calls forth the power of the thunder and the rumbling of the earthquake. The drum invites a trance state where healing and prophecy happen.

This session was showing me how to set and protect a drum circle.

Perhaps she contained a whole system, a cosmology and she was seeking for something that would fit within it. Only jobs, healers and modality that subscribe her worldview can be allowed in.

The similarities between us created noise and static that caused my inner voice and intuition to be drowned out. I was blocked possibly by a need for validation from someone so similar.

What my body was responding to: the nature of the static

A navigational signal. Something about the wrong direction, spinning, misalignment. This interaction is outside of the wheel of my work.

The correct action taken: ending the session

Restoration of harmony and emotional integrity. Staying in right relationship with my method. Preserving the integrity of the work.

The lesson for my modality

Sweat Lodge and Sun (Witches Wisdom)

The Sweat Lodge must be willingly entered and submitted to. It's a process of purification, initiation, intense inner work. It is a sacred container. Not a spectator sport. People must enter to undergo transformation, not to analyse.

My modality is a divine light that heals, that allows people to face the hidden things within that bring them shame. The young hawk god Horus descends with the sun in its beak and offers it to my clients, but they must open their mouths and swallow. And then the sun shines within them, so they can see what they must. Slowly, magically, organically in time they come to accept and love what has been hidden. All within the container of the sweat lodge.

What quality in a client allows the resonance to open

A steady faith and love, a natural trust in the light. A response to the right environment. A lack of rigidity. Receptivity to emergence. Allowing for mystery.

What is the first sign that the lotus is opening

When the client drops over-identification with the mind, intellectual control of emotional territory, protective skepticism. When the Queen loosens her grip. I will feel the mind relaxing its guard.
